Overview
The epicenter of marine biodiversity and located on a gorgeous island in a remote part of Indonesia, Misool Eco Resort is a fabulous base to explore the region’s premier snorkeling sites.
During this trip exclusively for snorkelers and led by Planet Snorkeling’s team, you will snorkel over all kinds of marine ecosystems, including pristine coral gardens, dramatic reef walls, and slightly deeper areas visited by manta rays.

- This trip includes 18 boat snorkeling sessions on remote coral reefs, a night time snorkeling adventure, and unlimited snorkeling on the house reef, featuring shallow corals, dramatic walls, a blue hole and a sandy lagoon.
- May is one of the best months to spot Mantas in Misool. The quiet, commanding presence of a manta ray swimming next to you is one of the most spectacular and profound snorkeling experiences. You will seek this magical encounter on special sites near the resort.
- Enjoy luxury full-board accommodation at Misool Eco Resort in a South Beach Villa or a Water Cottage. Located at the edge of a lagoon the site is visited by small blacktip sharks and sea turtles. All accommodations offer a sea view.

Accommodation
Misool Resort is a secluded eco-luxury retreat set in the heart of Raja Ampat, surrounded by pristine reefs and turquoise lagoons. Blending barefoot comfort with sustainability, the resort offers direct access to some of the most biodiverse snorkeling on the planet.
All rooms feature Balinese-style open-air bathrooms, wall fans, independent air-conditioning units, fresh hot and cold showers, mini-bars stocked with treats from around the archipelago, and handcrafted furniture and fittings. All rooms can be arranged with one double bed or twin beds.
Water Cottages
Water Cottages are built on stilts over the North Lagoon. For lazy afternoons with a good book, there is a hammock built right into the veranda. The view from your veranda is framed by a traditional grass roof, offering a high degree of privacy and shade. Stairs lead down from your veranda to the North Lagoon, and the house reef is just a few fin kicks away.
South Beach Villas
South Beach Villas are situated on South Beach, a stunning white-sand beach lined with coconut trees. Some villas are directly on the beach, while others are tucked into the jungle. South Beach Villas are reached by a short but steep walk over the hill, with exceptional 270-degree views along the way. Alternatively, a Water Taxi is reachable by radio and available at all times except at low tide.

House Reef
The Misool Resort features one of the most extensive and varied house reefs in all of Indonesia. Different areas can be explored around the resort, from the North Lagoon to South Beach, all with exceptional and dense sea life.
The main snorkeling area is the North Lagoon, surrounded by the restaurant, the dive and snorkel center, and overwater bungalows. This shallow, sandy area is visited by Green Turtles, Blacktip Sharks, Snake Eels, Jacks and Groupers.
From the lagoon, you can access the spectacular reef drop-off, buzzing with life. From there, you can follow the reef edge and exit the water at the jetty (or the other way around, depending on the current). This whole area has outstanding corals, including pristine branching coral, and you may spot hundreds of fish species around, such as Napoleon Wrasse, several Anemonefish, Butterflyfish, and Angelfish species, as well as Octopus and Lobsters.
The pillars of the Jetty are another highlight of the house reef, as they are covered by pink and red sea fans. They are called home by Snappers, Jacks, Sweetlips, and Blacktip Sharks. The South Reef (visited by Hawksbill Turtles and Angelfish) and its Sandy Slope (where huge Bumphead Parrotfish gather in the morning) are also worth exploring.
On the day of arrival in Misool, the resort’s snorkel guides will offer us a guided tour of the house reef.
