What is the difficulty level of the coastal hiking?
The coastal hiking ranges from easy to moderate difficulty, with daily walks of 4-6 hours. Most trails are well-marked coastal paths with some rocky sections. Good general fitness is recommended, but routes can be adjusted for different abilities.
What should I pack for Greek island hiking?
Essential items include comfortable hiking shoes, sun hat, high SPF sunscreen, light layers for varying weather, swimwear, and reusable water bottle. The Mediterranean sun can be intense, so sun protection is crucial.
Are the ferry connections reliable between islands?
Yes, we use established ferry routes with reliable schedules. However, weather conditions can occasionally affect ferry services. Our guides monitor conditions and have contingency plans to ensure smooth island transitions.
Can I swim during the hiking breaks?
Absolutely! Many hiking routes include stops at beautiful beaches and secluded coves perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The clear Aegean waters are ideal for cooling off during hikes, and we allow time for beach activities.
What type of food can I expect on the islands?
You’ll enjoy authentic Mediterranean cuisine featuring fresh seafood, local vegetables, famous Greek olive oil, and traditional dishes like moussaka and souvlaki. Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.
